About Me
Throughout my life, music and art have always been a constant. From the swells of my grandmother’s cello, to my father’s profound appreciation for art through the ages, my mother’s incredible knack for words, or the family piano hardly having a day without being played, I found myself in a world of continuous artistic expression.
My own expression began with paint and pencil. As long as I was creating something, I was happy, so I figured I’d follow wherever that led. I didn’t expect it to lead to a passion for rhyming and singing my feelings. But there I was, 14 years old, writing my first ballad on the piano. I was hooked. I continued honing in and before I knew it, I was creating a collection of my own songs.
At 16, I lived an actual dream: I met Smokey Robinson. My dad drove us over to Smokey’s home, I sat down at his piano and sang him one of my songs. When I had finished, I remember him grinning from ear to ear as he said, “You’ve got ‘it’, babe”. That was a definite ‘pinch me’ moment. It was also a moment that solidified that this is the dream I want to make a reality. I want to one day touch lives with my music the way Smokey has with his.
As I developed musically, Smokey became my mentor. He would lend his ear, time and wisdom, guiding me and challenging me to be the best version of a writer and performer as I could be. All the while, he always encouraged me to be me.
As the pursuit continued, my dad (my biggest supporter) signed on as my manager as I dove deeper into the world of music. I began working with several producers, and when I was 20, Smokey stopped by one night to see what I’d been up to at the studio. The next morning, he calls to ask if it would be “alright” to co-manage me alongside my dad. I had never been more “alright” with anything in my life.
Today, I have my two incredible managers and an amazing team that has made chasing after this dream a reality. I have released my first three songs, available on all streaming platforms with much more to come. Thank you for your support and I really hope you love the music.
